Advanced Chemical Proteomics For Target Identificationcopyright Shantani Proteome Analytics Pvt. Ltd. 2011
Technology Application Domain and Value Addition
1) Phenotypic Drug Discovery -
Application - The identification of targets and the associated MOA information allowing the optimization of a lead molecule for the development of a efficacious and safer candidate drug.
Value - Our methodologies identify only a few but rightful targets of small molecules and thus it provides 50-70% savings in target validation cost and cycle time (saving the expenses incurring in validating false-positives). Further our expert scientific team provides a thorough analysis of the generated data to allow Go/No Go development decisions.
2) Target Based Drug Discovery -
Application - The toxicity profiling of a candidate drug / lead molecule by identifying their off-targets interactions in close to human in-vivo conditions allowing 'kill-early' strategies to save substantial (or even unprecedented) clinical development cost.
Value - Our methodologies identify only a few but rightful targets (off-targets) of small molecules thus provide a clear way forward to understand its liability. It is estimated that a 10% improvement in the ability to predict the toxicity can save close to $100 million in the development cost of a drug candidate. More...
3) Drug Repositioning Strategies -
Application - The identification of secondary targets and the new MOA of marketed drugs establishing a clear scientific basis for the drug repositioning.
Value - By identifying rightful secondary targets and establishing a clear MOA our methodologies can substantially reduce Go-to-Market time.
Value Proposition
Our technology identifies a few but the rightful targets of the drugs and the target information can be validated in very short period of time. By saving the time on validating only a few but the rightful targets our technology allows a saving of 50-70% in cost and time over the existing small-molecule ‘target-deconvolution’ strategies.
Technology Description
For small molecule target identification Shantani utilizes its proprietary subcellular location specific target capturing probes. These probes
1) determine the subcellular location of the drug targets through corresponding functionality assays
2) add in significantly reducing the number of target proteins (false positives) by analyzing target location specific subproteome
Using these probes our technology reliably identifies a few but 'the rightful' targets of small molecules. Because identified targets are few in numbers they can be validated quickly, saving the time and money, for the intended purpose.
